Yesterday I went to the Ethiopian Patriarchate to collect some info about the Holy places suggested for the visit, and later I visited the Patriarchate’s Library, to find lots of huge books, and many antique and rare books.. Some of them manuscripts and Arabic Books, in addition to translations of H. H. Pope Shenouda III’s books, and a section for general books.. The library is well designed, and is of good standard of indexing and preservation..
أمس ذهبت إلى البطريركية الحبشية لتجميع بعض المعلومات حول الأماكن المقدسة المناسب زيارتها، ودخلت بعدها إلى المكتبة الخاصة بالبطريركية، لأجد فيها كمية كتب ضخمة، والكثير من الكتب الأثرية والنادرة.. منها بعض المخطوطات والكتب العربية، بالإضافة إلى ترجمات كتب قداسة البابا شنوده الثالث، مع قسم كتب ثقافية عامة.. والمكتبة فخمة، وذات مستوى جيد من الفهرسة والحفظ..

Later I went to the librarians to ask for books about St. Teklehaimanot, and they told me there is none! Then I replied with a surprise, how come they are a Christian library in Ethiopia that doesn’t have such a book! So the manager of the library started searching with me, and he knew where to look, and I was surprised by what I found.. I found a huge book, very old, in English, it is a translation for an Ethiopian manuscript about the life and miracles of Kidus Tekle Haimanot.. God gave us grace in their eyes to let us photocopy parts of the book, in spite of the objection of some librarians.. And it was St. Tekle who were solving all our problems in a noticeable way..
ثم ذهبت لأمناء المكتبة أسأل عن كتب عن القديس تكلا هيمانوت، فأخبروني بعدم وجود مثل هذا الكتاب! فقلت لهم: كيف وأنتم مكتبة إثيوبية دينية لا يوجد فيها مثل هذا الموضوع؟! فقام مدير المكتبة بالذهاب معي للبحث، وعرف أين يبحث، وهالني ما وجدت.. فقد وجدت كتاباً ضخماً جداً، وقديماً، باللغة الإنجليزية، وهو عبارة عن ترجمة لمخطوط حياة ومعجزات الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت.. وأعطانا الله نعمة في أعينهم للقيام بتصوير أجزاء من الكتاب، على الرغم من اعتراض بعض الأمناء على هذا.. وكان الأنبا تكلا هو الذي يقوم بحل كل المشاكل التي تصادفنا بطريقة ملحوظة..
When His Holiness Abune Paulos new that we intend to go to Debre Libanos Monastery (about 120 km from Addis Ababa), he ordered a car from the Patriarchate with a driver to take us there, and not use general transportation.. Thank God for giving us grace in His Holiness’s eyes.. We will go there next Saturday April 19 God willing.
عندما علم قداسة أبونا باولص بنية ذهابنا إلى دير ديبرا ليبانوس (وهو يبعد عن أديس أبابا مسافة حوالي 120 كم)، أمر على الفور بأن نذهب عن طريق عربة وسائق خاص من البطريركية، وليس باستخدام المواصلات العامة.. نشكر الله أن أعطانا نعمة في أعين قداسته.. وسوف نذهب إلى الدير يوم السبت القادم 19 إبريل بإذن الله.
Tomorrow is the Friday of the Seal of the Holy Lent, April 18, 2008, and we’ll attend the prayer at St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church, and part of the Coptic residents in Addis will attend the Coptic Holy Liturgy, which will be prayed by Rev. Father Bishoy Helmy, the envoy of the Coptic Church of Egypt to Ethiopia.
غداً جمعة ختام الصوم 18 إبريل 2008، سوف نحضر الصلاة في كنيسة القديسة مريم القبطية بأديس أبابا، وسيصلي القداس الإلهي القبطي مع الجالية القبطية قدس أبونا بيشوي حلمي، الموفَد من مصر إلى إثيوبيا.
