35) To the Cave of Saint Takla Haimanot, Ethiopia

 مغارة الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت في إثيوبيا

 

After that I got to my way with one of the guards to head up the mountain, for the cave that Saint Takla Haymanout used to pray in, and lived there for 29 years, and there He lost his right leg after 22 years (This part of St. Teklehimanot story is available here).  The road was very hard, because of the strong but not burning sun, the trouble breathing that I have these days, and also for the lack of sufficient Oxygen molecules here!

بعد هذا ذهبت في طريقي مع أحد الحراس للصعود إلى المغارة التي كان يصلي فيها القديس تكلا هيمانوت، وقد مكث فيها 29 سنة، وفيها فقد ساقه اليمنى بعد 22 سنة (هذا الجزء من قصة القديس تكلاهيمانوت موجود هنا).  وكان الطريق شاقاً جداً، بسبب الشمس القوية، ولكنها ليست حارقة، وأيضاً بسب ضيق التنفس الذي أعاني منه حالياً، بالإضافة إلى قلة نسبة جزيئات الأوكسجين هنا!

The cave of Saint TeklaHaimanot is just under the top of the mountain!   Not so hard!!  !!جبل الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت قبل قمة الجبل بالضبط!  الطريق ليس صعباً   My guide!  !المرشد     Artistic photograph ;)  (لقطة فنية ؛

 

The guide was walking with wide steps, and knows where to put his feet..  I was gasping out of breath behind him, and trying to take some shots with the digital camera now and then.  And at the moment that I was about to stop from exhaustion and fatigue, I heard some severe screaming, and saw some people gathered around a small room, and underneath the room there is water coming out.. 

وكان المرشد يسير بخطى واسعة ويعرف أين تدب قدماه..  وأنا ألهث وراءه، وأحاول أخذ بعض اللقطات بالكاميرا من آن لآخر.  وعندما كنت على وشك التوقف برهة من شدة التعب، سمعت بعض أصوات الصراخ الشديد، ورأيت بعض الناس الملتفين حول ما هو شبه حجرة صغيرة، ومن أسفل الحجرة يوجد ماسورة يخرج منها ماء..

Later I knew that there is water coming out from the cave of Saint Takla Haymanot, and the water has healing powers, and people get up the mountain to get water for blessings and asking for healing..  The screaming voice I heard was from inside this room, where people that are possessed by demons get inside with their folks, and bath with this Holy Water and the evil demons get out..

علمت بعد هذا أن هناك ماء يخرج من مغارة القديس تكلا هيمانوت، والماء له القدرة على شفاء الأمراض، ويصعد الناس إلى أعلى لأخذ ماء للبركة وطلباً للشفاء..  وكان صوت الصراخ هو من داخل تلك الحجرة، حيث يدخلها مَنْ يكون عليهم روح شريرة مع ذويهم، ويقومون بالاستحمام بهذا الماء المقدس لتخرج الروح الشريرة..
