45) St. Mariam Church, the Answering Intercessor

 كنيسة القديسة مريم الشفيعة المُستجيبة

 

I jumped into the car, and the Fathers insisted that we take lots of food for the road..  We stopped on they way to give some to the poor that were around the area, as also we already had plenty..  We passed by one of the elderly and orphan homes, and we were surprised by such degree of poverty and sickness..  And we thanked God for such a place to help these people..  It was not far from the Monastery..  On the way out a seller came to us offering crosses made of something like marble, I got some as a souvenir from Debra Lebanous Monastery..  Saint Takla Haymanout’s Monastery.

ثم توجهت للعربة، وقد أصر الآباء على إعطائنا طعاماً كثيراً للطريق..  ونحن في الطريق توقفنا لإعطاء طعاماً للفقراء الموجودين بالمنطقة المحيطة، وقد كنا قد أتينا بالكثير منه..  وعبرنا على أحد بيوت الأيتام والمسنين، وهالنا مقدار الفقر والمرض الموجود..  وشكرنا الله على وجود مثل هذا المكان لمساعدة مثل هؤلاء..  والمكان على مسافة بسيطة من الدير..  وفي طريق الخروج أتى أحد الباعة الذي يقوم ببيع بعض الصلبان المصنوعة من مادة شبيهة بالرخام، فاشتريت بعضها تذكاراً من دير ديبرا ليبانوس..  دير القديس تكلا هيمانوت الحبشي.

On the way to the Patriarchate, we headed to Saint Mariam Church “Kidane Mehret”, i.e. the intercessor that answers prayers..  I took some photos for the beautiful icons there, you can find it on the Ethiopian Churches section at Saint Teklehaimanot’s site.

وفي طريق العودة توجهنا إلى كنيسة السيدة العذراء "كيداني ميهريت"، أي الشفيعة التي تستجيب..  وأخذت بعض الصور للأيقونات الجميلة الموجودة هناك، ستجدها في قسم صور كنائس إثيوبيا بموقع الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت.
