Today I went to the Library of Addis Ababa University, and its Microfilm center, to see what we can get of manuscripts or books about Saint Takla Haymanout, and I found two books in the Library, asked for them, and when I got them, I discovered that one is in French and the other is in Amharic!  After another simple search, I found an English book, but to be able to use the services of the Library and the microfilm center, I had to prove my identity as a researcher at a certain college or an organization..  By the means of a written document that proves that..

قمت اليوم بالذهاب إلى مكتبة جامعة أديس أبابا، ومركز الميكروفيلم فيها، لأرى ما يمكننا الحصول عليه من مخطوطات أو كتب عن القديس تكلا هيمانوت، ووجدت كتابين بالمكتبة، وطلبتهم، وعندما استلمتهم، كان أحدهم بالفرنسية، والآخر بالأمهرية!  وبعد بحث بسيط وجدت كتاباًَ آخر بالإنجليزية، ولكن لكي أستفيد من خدمات المكتبة ومركز الميكروفيلم، ينبغي أن أثبت صلتي كباحث بجامعة أو هيئة ما..  عن طريق خطاب مكتوب يثبت هذا..

 

 

I was going to send a fax to the church asking for that, but one of the Ethiopian friends suggested that I apply in the Trinity College as a researcher in it, and through it I get that needed document, and make a 3-months ID card in the Library..  We’ll see what happens by the will of God..

فكنت أنوي أن أرسل فاكساً إلى الكنيسة في طلب هذا، ولكن اقترح أحد الأصدقاء الأحباش أن أقوم بتقديم طلب لكلية الثالوث اللاهوتية الإثيوبية كباحث فيها، ومن خلالها أحصل على الخطاب، لكي أحصل على التصريح المطلوب، وعمل اشتراك ربع سنوي في المكتبة.  سنرى ما يحدث بإذن الله..
