95) Brother Belete Negash

 الأخ بالاتا نيجاش

I had the laptop, in it the full version of the website of Saint Taklehaimanot Church in Alexandria (St-Takla.org), which are the original files..  I put it on the door of the entrance of the Cave, asking Saint Taklehaimanot to bless it, to re-upload them all on the Internet..  As these files today had the blessing of a place where Saint Taklehaimanot lived, prayed and died on, after spending about third of His life in that place..

وكان معي اللاب توب، وبه نسخة موقع كنيسة الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت بالإسكندرية St-Takla.org، وهي نسخة الملفات الأصلية للموقع..  فوضعته على مدخل المغارة، طالباً من القديس تكلاهيمانوت مباركتها، لأقوم برفع جميع الملفات مرة أخرى على الإنترنت..  فهذه الملفات اليوم قد أخذت بركة مكان عاش وصلى وتنيَّح فيه القديس تكلاهيمانوت بعدما قضى به حوالي ثلث حياته..

I got down to the Monastery to ask about one of the Fathers I met last time, whom also Mr. Daniel told me about, who is Red (Brother) Belete Negash, I asked him about the possibility to spend the night in the Monastery, to use the time to collect more data, as I did have the permission of the Shawa Diocese.  It was clear how the place was crowded, and he told me that all the people who participated in the Holy Communion today spend their night in the Monastery, in its enclosure and around it, and head back home to their nearby villages..

نزلت بعد ذلك إلى الدير، لأسأل عن أحد الآباء الذين قابلتهم في المرة السابقة، وقد أخبرني عنه أيضاً أ. دانيال الحبشي، وهو "ريد" أي الأخ "بالاّتا نيجاش"، وسألته حول إمكانية المبيت في الدير، لأستفيد بفترة الزيارة الثانية في تجميع بيانات أكثر، حيث كان معي أيضاً التصريح الخاص بإيبارشية "شاوا".  وكان واضحاً بالطبع مدى ازدحام المكان، وأخبرني أن كل الذين تناولوا اليوم في القداس الإلهي يقضون الليلة في الدير، وفي فناءه وحوله، ويعودون أدراجهم غداً إلى قراهم القريبة من الدير..

 

 

I went outside to look for a hotel to spend the night in, after walking for 1 km., I found a car heading to the junction previously mentioned exactly after 4.2 km., from the Monastery, there were two hotels only..  One is 10 times more expensive than the other!  Of course the other had no vacancy, and the price for one night in it was the same for one week at my residence in Addis Ababa, and it was all vacant!!  I had no choice but to take a room there, as I only slept less than three hours the day before, and it is unreasonable to go to Addis Ababa, then come back here once more to get the needed data, I am here already!  The place was clean, but had some problems..  But it was enough for me.  The area around is wonderful, I had my lunch outside, and in front of me were the forests, mountains and a river..

فخرجت خارج الدير لأبحث عن فندق أبيت به الليلة، وبعد سير حوالي 1كم، وجدت عربة متجهة إلى مفترق الطرق السابق الذِّكر على بُعد 4.2 كم من الدير، وبه فندقان فقط..  أحدهم ثمن الليلة فيه عشرة أضعاف الآخر!  وبالطبع وجدت الأول بلا أي حجرات متاحة، والآخر -والذي كانت تكلفة اليوم فيه نفس تكلفة أسبوع من المسكن الذي أقيم فيه حالياً- كله شاغراً!!  فلم أجد بداً من أخذ حجرة فيه، حيث أنني لم أنم سوى ثلاث ساعات في الليلة السابقة، وأيضاً من غير المنطقي أن أعود إلى أديس أبابا ثم أرجع للدير مرة أخرى لتجمع البيانات المرغوبة، وأنا هنا بالفعل!  كان المكان نظيفاً، ولكن به بعض المشاكل..  ولكنه كان مفيداً لقضاء الغرض منه.  الطبيعة حوله أيضاً رائعة، وأخذت وجبة الغذاء في الهواء الطلق، وأمامي الغابات والجبال والنهر..
