St. Teklehaimanot Monastery of Debre Libanos -3

 دير الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت: ديبرا ليبانوس -3

The Lord Jesus Christ has promised Him before His death at the age of 99, that His sons and daughters (followers) will be millions, and that the miracles that He performed during His lifetime will continue in His historical place, where the body of the Holy Father was buried.  At first, His dead body was buried at the cave of Assebo, where He prayed for 29 years, then after 57 years, His body was transferred to this area where the church is built.

وقد وعده ربنا يسوع المسيح قبل نياحته عندما كان عمره 99 سنة، بأن أبناءه وبناته (أتباعه) سوف يكونوا بالملايين، وأن المعجزات التي قام بها في حياته ستستمر في هذا المكان التاريخي، حيث يكون جسد القديس موجود فيه.  وفي البداية، تم دفن جسده الطاهر في مغارة "أسّي بو"، حيث صلّى هناك لمدة 29 عاماً، ثم بعد 57 سنة تم نقل الجسد الطاهر إلى مكان وجوده الآن في الكنيسة.

In the year 1434 G. C., the Monastery was named “Debre Libanos” by the religious King Zeray-Yakob.  In 1531 G. C., during the expansion of Mohammed Al Geragn (Grangn means left handed in Amharic), the Monastery was burnt out by his followers!  The followers of Tekle-Haimanot paid sacrifices by throwing themselves into the fire, not to see such evil done by invaders..

وفي عام 1434، تم إطلاق اسم دير "ديبرا ليبانوس" على الدير في وقت حكم الملك زرع يعقوب المتدين.  ولكن عام 1531، خلال التوسع الذي قام به محمد الجرّانجن (كلمة جرانجن بالأمهرية تعني الأشول)، تم حرق الدير عن طريق أتباعه!  ولكن أبناء الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت قاموا بالتضحية بأنفسهم في النار، غير محتملين هذا الشر العظيم عن طريق المحتلين..

In the year 1937 G. C., during the Italian invasion, almost all the monks were killed by fascist’s machine guns at a place called “Skinkurt” near the Monastery.

وفي عام 1937، وخلال الاحتلال الإيطالي للبلاد، تم قتل كل الرهبان تقريباً عن طريق مدافع الفاشيين في مكان يُدعى "سكينكيرت" قرب الدير.

 

 

 

This Holy place has four names:

1- It was named “Zegameal” during the time of Saint Libanos.

2- It was known as “Graria” during the time of our Holy Father Saint Tekla Haymanot in the 13^th century.

3- It was known as “Assebo” after the death of our Holy Father Teklehaimanot.

4- It finally got its present name “Debre Libanos” as we said during the reign of King Zeray Yacoub.

هذا المكان المقدس له أربعة أسماء:

1- تم تسميته "زيجاميل" في فترة القديس ليبانوس.

2- عُرِفَ باسم "جراريا" خلال وقت القديس تكلاهيمانوت في القرن الثالث عشر.

3- عُرف باسم "أسّي بو" بعد نياحة أبونا الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت.

4- وأخيراً أطلق عليه الاسم الحالي دير "ديبرا ليبانوس" عن طريق الملك زيراي يعقوب كما ذكرنا.

After 700 years, since the death of this Holy Father Tekle Haimanout, this Monastery is ruled by the rules set by the Holy Father.  The followers of our Holy Father, i. e. the monks and pilgrims are countless in number.

وحتى الآن وبعد 700 عاماً، من وقت نياحة القديس تكلاهيمانوت، قواعد هذا الدير هي نفس القواعد التي وضعها القديس تكلاهيمانوت.  وأتباع هذا الأب الطاهر من رهبان والسوّاح (الدينيين) لا يُحصى لهم عدداً.

Religious miracles daily occur at this Holy place through the Holy water and prayer..  Patients are being cured from different types of diseases and evil spirits.

ويومياً هناك معجزات تحدث في هذا المكان المقدس عن طريق الماء المقدس والصلاة..  والمرضى يبرأون من أمراضهم المختلفة، ومن تأثير الأرواح الشريرة عليهم..

Emperor Menellik had built a church in the name of our Holy Father during his reign, but it was replaced by the modern church after 53 years.  The present church was built by Emperor Hail-Silassie in 1961 G. C.

وقد قام الملك "مينيليك" ببناء كنيسة باسم أنبا تكلا هيمانوت خلال فترة حكمه، ولكن تم استبدالها بالكنيسة الحديثة بعد 53 سنة.  والكنيسة الحالية بُنِيَت في عهد الإمبراطور هيلا سلاسي سنة 1961.
